One of the things you'll hear Bill O'Brien say over and over is that he's busy. He regularly talks of the long hours he and his staff put in. On Monday, he gave just another example of this: During he and his staff's spare time this winter, O'Brien said that they watched loads of tape from last season, examining every player.
At some point, O'Brien or an assistant would then meet with that player and talk about everything. They had a sheet that listed their strengths and weaknesses and could suggest improvements on what to do.
Last year, several players commended O'Brien and his staff for being honest. They often told the players what they didn't like to hear and at least let them knew where they stood.
This was just another example. Though Penn State's transparency with the public has not improved under the O'Brien regime, he seems to be continuing to make progress in this area with his players.
