So we actually got to hear from PSU linebacker Gerald Hodges on Monday. This is news because we don't often get to hear from Gerald Hodges. You see, he generally hides from all activity with the media, whether it is during football season or at the NFL combine. The strange part is he's usually very accomodating when he does speak and offers pretty good insight. He's like that friend you always want to hang out with but always decides to stay in and play video games.

Anyway, on Monday, he addressed his disappearing act. Questioned about why he didn't talk to the media at the combine (he was one of very few to skip) Hodges said it wasn't intentional and that he wasn't sure where he was supposed to go at the time. Questioned about his Twitter account being a negative according to many teams, Hodges said it was a baseless rumor.

On Monday, he performed in the shuttle drill, running a 4.25, and in the vertical leap, jumping 35.5 inches. At the combine, Hodges said he felt nervous and that he wanted to be more polished during the Monday Pro Day.

He said he'd like to be drafted in the second or third round but is generally just set on getting his opportunity in the NFL. For the next month or so, Hodges said he would continue to train in Happy Valley, waiting for the draft, glad that the hard part is over.

"I think you’re more nervous about the combine than you are about the draft," he said. "There’s nothing I can do. I did everything  I can do. I played football as well as I can play. I trained as hard as I could train. Now like I said, leave it in God’s hands."
