Freshman defensive end Jordan Kerner will no longer play football for Penn State because of issues caused by a bulging disc in his back, according to a report by the Altoona Mirror.
"If I kept playing I would need surgery and it would create problems for me later in my life according to the medical staff and trainer," Kerner said to the Mirror. "They said it would be best to stop playing."
That makes three fewer Penn State players since the beginning of this semester. Linebacker Brennan Franklin and running back Curtis Dukes have also left the team. Unlike those two, Kerner has not left the school.
