At the beginning of the year, Bill O'Brien and his staff evaluate their players and project where they expect them to be by the end of the season. He had a quick way to describe what running back Zach Zwinak has done for them:
"He's surpassed them," O'Brien said.
Zwinak has rushed for 686 yards on 138 carries. He has only about 50 yards fewer than Silas Redd, who has played since the beginning of the season. And he has more receiving yards than Redd.
"There are things that he needs to get better at, of course he does," O"Brien said. "He's got to get better at ball security. He can be a really good route runner if he concentrates on it, and I know he will."
