Dakota Royer, a redshirt sophomore tight end, will no longer play football for Penn State.
His name has been removed from the Penn State roster, and Lions 24-7 reported that he will continue his studies at Penn State. The NCAA sanctions allowed for any current player who chooses to stop playing football to remain on scholarship.
Royer redshirted as a freshman and did not play last season.
