Adam Breneman has torn his ACL, according to his Cedar Cliff (Pa.) High School coach, Jim Cantafio. Breneman, a 2013 Penn State recruit, is ranked as the nation's No. 1 tight end. He tore the ACL in a 7-on-7 practice on Thursday when he made a cut after coming down with a pass, according to his coach, Jim Cantafio.

His father provided an e-mail to to Lions 24-7 discussing the injury:

"We are very grateful for the outpouring of support over the past 24 hours with regards to Adam's injury. An MRI this morning confirmed that Adam has a torn ACL in his right knee. While he is disappointed that he will be unable to play football his senior season, he is very optimistic about his future at Penn State, and is totally committed to making a full recovery in time for the 2013 season. WE ARE!"
