Every Steelers fan is aware that Ben Roethlisberger has taken too many hits during his NFL career. Roethlisberger’s style of play has caused him to take more hits than he would have as a strict pocket passer, but Ben likes to make plays by moving out of the pocket and getting away from the rush. This allows his receivers to get open down field and has resulted in some big time plays for the Steelers over the years.

With the Steelers' 2012 schedule being announced today and including fellow 2004 NFL Draft alums Eli Manning (pick #1) and Phillip Rivers (pick #4) to face Ben Roethlisberger (pick #11); as well as throwback jerseys being displayed it brought about an old story. A 2004 NFL Draft throwback per-say.

Baron Batch was the last player taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2011 NFL Draft; he was the 232nd player selected. There were only 22 players selected after Batch; players drafted this late aren't usually expected to make the team in training camp. In fact, most seventh round picks are lucky if they make the practice squad. However, every once in a while there is a great player just looking for a chance to prove himself in the seventh round: Donald Driver, Marques Colston and Shannan Sharpe were all seventh round picks. Batch has the potential and skillset to be one of those guys and Steelers' fans could be in for a surprise in 2012.
